Sunny Weekend Ahead 082710

TODAY: After some morning clouds, another beautiful day is expected in the area with abundant sunshine and highs near 83. Winds will pick up a bit out of the southwest at 10 to 15 mph this afternoon. WEEKEND WEATHER: Those southwest and south winds will continue to blow through the weekend bringing in warmer weather each day. Under mostly sunny skies Saturday’s high will reach 84 and Sunday near 86. The comfort level will be good too as muggy conditions won’t return until late in the weekend and into Monday. Highs to start the work week will be near 90. Enjoy this warm up while you can because temperatures drop to the upper 60s by next Friday.

It’s warming up to the mid 70s today but our morning lows were in the upper 40s. The 48 degrees in Green Bay was the lowest temperature since June 30th when we awoke to a temperature of 47.

A cool start to the day but we’ll warm up to the mid 70s under clear skies and low humidity.

If you’re heading to the Packers-Indy pre-season game tonight, the kick off temperature will be near 68° with light SW winds and by the end of the game temperatures will drop to 60°

This great weather will continue through the weekend as an area of high pressure is firmly in control which brings lots of sunshine to the region. Winds will turn to the south and humidity levels will kick up a bit on Saturday and Sunday while temperatures top out in the mid 80s. A warm last weekend of August. Have a great day!

Temperatures will be in the low 70s today as cooler, drier air filters into the region on breezy northwest winds. It’ll be cooler than normal tomorrow too (Normal high is 77) then a warming trend will kick temperatures up into the mid 80s by the weekend.

If you’re heading to the Packers game tomorrow evening it’ll be great; Kick off temperature of 67 with Southwest winds 5-10 mph.

TODAY: The high humidity levels won’t break today as dewpoints hover around 70 degrees meaning you’ll start sweating just standing still. Add in high temperatures near 87 and heat index values (feels like temps) will reach into the low 90s. There’s a small chance of a shower or thunderstorm today but if you’re heading to Packers Training Camp, it’s likely they’ll be sweating it out on Nitschke Field.

One Wet Wednesday

The last of the storms are pushing toward the east at 3 am and should be over Lake Michigan by 4:30. Most of the area got hit with 3 rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms over the past 24 hours. Hopefully your basement isdry and you didn’t see your patio furniture float down the street. The official rainfall totals from the storms is impressive, of course some of you may have received even more in your backyard. Rainfall amounts can vary greatly over just a small area. Overall since June 1st we have really had a surplus of rain.

Severe Weather in NW Wisconsin

A tornado watch has been issued for all of northeast Wisconsin until 7 pm.

Severe thunderstorms are moving through the northwest counties of the state. These storms have a history of damaging wind…up to 80 mph. The storms are moving east at 55 mph and if the line holds together it will be approaching Langlade County and Antigo between 1 and 2 today.

Storms will also develop to the Southwest and move into NE Wisconsin this evening, probably after 6 pm. The threat is damaging wind, large hail, heavy rain and we could even see an isolated tornado. Chief Meteorologist Patrick Powell and Meteorologist Andrew Thut will update you on FOX 11 with live cut-ins this afternoon and in the news at 5 and 9.

Today: We’ll feel the heat and humidity rise as the day goes on. Dewpoints will be near 70 by 5 pm and temperatures in the mid 80s. A cold front will push through tonight and touch off thunderstorms that may be strong or severe. Areas to the southwestern part of the state will have heat index values that approach 100 which is why there is a heat advisory in effect there.

Tonight: Some thunderstorms may impact our area as early at 5 pm but most of the storms will rumble through tonight after 9 pm with some of the storms strong or severe. Damaging wind and heavy rain are the main threats but isolated tornadoes are also possible.

Today: A lot of sunshine and low humidity and highs near 80. An area of high pressure to our north will bring northeast and east winds making it cooler by the Lake. There’s a small chance of a shower to the southern portion of our viewing area about mid-day

Tomorrow: Clouds will be on the increase as well as humidity. An approaching cold front will bring showers and thunderstorms Wednesday night into Thursday morning; some of the storms may be strong or severe with damaging wind and large hail. The Storm Prediction Center has us in a “slight” risk for severe storms tomorrow.
