Winter Storm Carol snow totals

Winter Storm Carol brought a half a foot of snow to many areas on President’s Day.  The storm brought accumulating snow to the southwestern portion of our area in the morning hours, reaching Green Bay about noon.  The snow made the afternoon commute a slippery one for drivers with many run-offs and crashes.  Forecast snow totals of 4 to 6 inches held up well with Chilton in Calumet County receiving 6.5 inches of snow. Green Bay, Appleton and Oshkosh got between 5 and 6 inches of accumulation.  Now we turn warmer…for a few days.  We will probably see a high temperature above freezing today which would end a streak of 35 straight days putting it at number 9 on the top ten list. It was a very cold start to the day for Green Bay and areas to the north.  The skies cleared a bit overnight and the temperatures dropped to below zero but just to the south, clouds helped keep temps up.
