You may have not ietnednd to do so, but I think you have managed to express the state of mind that a lot of people are in. The sense of wanting to help, but not knowing how or where, is something a lot of us are going through.

On a whim, I got my 1st mammogram on Dec 23 of 2009 and the results came back positive for DCIS a "not yet"-invasive cancer. I had surgery on Jan 19th of this year and start radiation treatments on 2-15-10. During the rounds of testing which included SEVERAL mammograms, each one I had DID NOT HURT!!!! Uncomfortable yes, but no pain! To say that Rachel is lying is a juvenile and uneducated remark. We should all know that not all women are the same and for some the comfort level can vary to great degrees, however trust me, the surgery hurts alot worse than a mammogram could!!! The earlier we catch the cancer the less treatments we have to go through. Go get tested girls, early detection will save your life!

I agree for some women a mammogram is good. However telling them it doesn't hurt is a lie. I have had several of them and every one of them has hurt. As I have gotten older they hurt even more. I have a pretty high pain tolerance and childbirth is a piece of cake compared to a mammogram
