Rain, Rain Go Away!
It wasn’t exactly a picture perfect weekend for outdoor activities. In fact it was down right miserable outside. We picked up over an inch of rain this weekend, and when it wasn’t raining it was surely gloomy.
Over the last 9 days, Green Bay has picked up 2.62” of much needed rainfall. The weather story has completely changed in comparison to the beginning of April. For the first 18 days of the month, we didn’t get a drop of rain. It was the driest start to the month on record.
We now have a surplus of precipitation. Most of Wisconsin has been hit hard by rainfall lately. Southern Wisconsin was even under flash flood warnings at one point on Sunday.
Rain was certainly something that we needed though. Brush fires were very common over the first three weeks of the month, but now the fire danger is low.
When it comes to April, you might think it is one of the wettest months of the years, thanks to the phrase “April showers bring May flowers.” But the truth of the matter is that each of the next 4 months typically has more rain than April.
I think it is fare to say that we have earned a break from the rain. A break for the rain is exactly what we will get, but it will be short lived. More rain is in the forecast starting with Thursday.
Until Next Time,
